Chandler grew up in the small town of Melrose, Wisconsin, where her parents had her running in road races as soon as she could walk. Chandler was also active in gymnastics and soccer. In high school, Chandler participated in varsity cross country and soccer teams while still finding time to attend group classes and weight train in a town 30 minutes away before school.
After high school, Chandler moved to Minnesota to attend the University of Minnesota State, Mankato, where she earned a B.S. in Political Science with a minor in Communication Science and Disorders. During her first two years, she played on the Women's Rugby team, helping them place 8th in the nation during her second year. When COVID-19 hit, she shifted her focus to weightlifting.
Unfortunately, Chandler sustained a shoulder injury that required surgery. While recovering, she decided to try CrossFit despite her concerns about whether she could manage it post-surgery. A supportive coach assured her that anything could be modified, and after one tough class, she was hooked. She credits CrossFit with aiding her recovery.
A few months later, Chandler's gym offered her a coaching and front desk position, which led her to leave her full-time job as a personal care attendant to pursue her passion. Although she once worried that working in a gym might lead to burnout, she’s found that when your work aligns with what you love, it doesn’t feel like work at all. Chandler is deeply grateful for the opportunities and community that CrossFit has brought into her life.
Chandler still loves to run—having completed her third marathon this year—bike, and enjoy the outdoors. Chandler has completed three half Ironmans, enjoys off-road triathlons, is an avid reader, and loves discovering new coffee shops.
