Twas the Night before the Open, when all through the gym
Not a member was stirring, not even Coach Tim.
The jump-ropes were hung by the garage doors with care,
In hopes that Coach Carter soon would be there.
The COL athletes were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of PR’s danced in their heads.
Our kids finally resting and Sam feeling at ease,
Hopefully our athletes are at home doing some myofascial release.
When out in the parking lot there arose such a clatter,
I jumped from the floor to see what was the matter.
Away to the entrance I flew like Cam Goude,
Swung opened the gym door and threw on my hoodie.
The lights were on and the gym's heat was set to 60,
Gave life to athletes that had said Thursdays recovery WOD was too easy.
When, what to my questioning eyes should appear,
But 23.1 and Muscles Ups ready to kick us all in our rear.
With our muscle driver clock so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it this first WOD might make us sick.
But us COL'ers are tough and we are ready for the game,
We might grunt, shout, and call these Open workouts a bad name.
On Sally, on Billy on Pooler and Mitch
On Molly, on Amber on Whitehouse and Rich.
Good luck to all athletes as you get ready to tackle week one
Don't get too worried and remember this is supposed to be fun!
Now take your vitamins, drink your water and turn off your lights
“Happy CrossFit Open to all, and to all a good night!”
