Kyler Eid

Coach

Kyler grew up in Fargo, ND where the crops are tall and the summers are short. Growing up, he was constantly finding ways to compete and improve, whether it be shoveling the driveway the fastest, using the most hair gel than anyone else in elementary school, or being the first to pass the blame to his older brother.
Soon he found a better way to harness that competitiveness and became a multi-sport athlete all the way through high school (football, hockey, track/field).

His journey with athletics continued in college, where he played football and track at Concordia College (Moorhead, MN) while initially pursuing his pre-med degree. Halfway through his junior year, Kyler switched his major from pre-med to Exercise Science when he found his new passion: connecting human physiology with the positive outcomes of exercise and nutrition. This newly lit passion carried him another step further into grad school, where he obtained his master’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology at the College of St. Scholastica (Duluth, MN).

Kyler gained a lot of great work experience in the medical field immediately after his schooling when he moved back to Fargo. There he worked as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist in Cardiac Rehab and then as a Pacemaker Technician in a medical device clinic. Once he made the move to the Minneapolis area in 2016, he took his first step into the health/fitness field as a personal trainer and Assistant PT Manager at a large gym, and then transitioned into a smaller gym as a personal trainer and General Manager.

Around the same time in 2016, Kyler found CrossFit when he realized he was missing something within his own fitness and lifestyle. He started dabbling with the style of training and tip-toed his way around some CrossFit Open workouts for a couple years until he and his fiancé finally joined CrossFit City of Lakes in 2021. His experience with CrossFit has allowed him to stay competitive, continue finding new passions, and surround himself with like-minded people.

Kyler lives in Savage, MN with his fiancé, Kate. His interests outside of CrossFit include hiking, golfing, playing volleyball, petting dogs, and watching true crime documentaries.
