Julia Holm

Coach

Julia was raised in Northfield Minnesota. Growing up with 5 older athletic brothers, sports became a constant in her life from the start. She committed to competing in gymnastics starting in childhood as well as track and cross country through high school and earned some accolades along the way. Physical fitness remained a steady passion beyond her years in sports, although it suddenly lacked community, coaching, and measurable goals.

Julia was introduced to CrossFit by attending the 2017 CrossFit Games to cheer on her sister-in-law in the masters division. Despite having no prior concept of the sport, she felt an instant spark and connection being surrounded by a community of fellow fitness-lovers. Even though she was intimidated and it took months to find the courage to try CrossFit, after taking one class with a 5-minute workout that left her heart pounding from her teeth to her toenails, she signed up for more and only wished she had discovered it sooner! The supportive community is what locked her in. Feeling strong, capable, and healthy became a priceless outcome.

CrossFit had the accountability, coaching, and competitiveness she missed. Years later her favorite aspect of CrossFit is the humble daily grind. She loves the simple everyday process of pushing her limits, practicing mentally toughness, and improving through steady consistency – concepts that have become a lifestyle both inside and outside of the gym.

Outside of the gym Julia is an event coordinator (Great Day Events) and venue manager (The Charleston Event Center) owning her own business since 2018. Through this business she enjoys serving clients as they plan some of life’s most memorable occasions as well as leading her staff further along in their personal and professional potential.
